Did you know Anorexia is the 3rd most common chronic illness among adolescents? That’s why the Something for Kelly Foundation is taking a different approach to the problem by empowering children ages 6-12 to take control of their predisposition to eating disorders.
How
The non-profit organization offers programs that teach children where food comes from and how to grow their own food. Additional education series explore the choices we can make in response to the messages conveyed in the media. Their programs aren’t just for kids. Parenting workshops are tailored for guidance in recognizing eating disorder behavior, including how to communicate with children to steer them in the right direction. Check out somethingforkelly.org to learn how to add these programs to your local elementary schools.
The Event
The Something for Kelly Foundation Annual Gala and Volleyball Tournament are listed as the National Eating Disorder Association’s top events to attend in Illinois. When launching their first Gala, the organization was looking to make their message stand out. That’s where we came into the picture, by working one-on-one with the Something for Kelly Foundation, we created a piece that added an elegant and fun pop to the table. Pop-ups are rubber band-activated and come flat in an envelope. When removed from the envelope, they pop into shape.
Carefully placed at each setting on the banquet tables, the piece was used to welcome guests. The Pop-Up was the first source of information for event attendees. Each panel spotlighted key elements of the foundation’s cause, with an additional insert featuring the foundation’s logo and site information.
The Reviews
“And what a success it was. People enjoyed the bit of surprise the Pop-Up provided and they immediately assembled the top insert. American Slide Chart/Perrygraf’s product was of high quality and extremely professional. Furthermore, it was genius to include the Foundation’s mission statement in plain view. I think everyone who attended the event took the Pop-Up home with them. Several of my employees and co-workers have placed the Pop-Up on their desks as a show of support.”
